“Saving Private Ryan?” These items can
be both tangible and nontangible items.

Today: 1) Finish watching "Saving Private Ryan" and complete inference charts.
2) Last Minute Extra Credit (Due by the end of class TODAY): Worth 20 Points: Write a version of "The Things They Carried" for high school students. Explain what items students carry (both tangible and intangible) and what you can infer about students based on the items they carried. You can choose to write about individual students, students as a whole, or both. Your story should be a minimum of TWENTY complete sentences.
Exit Slip: What items do you believe modern soldiers may carry with them today that soldiers in both the film and the book carried with them? Why do you believe these items are universal for all soldiers to carry, despite the difference in time? What do these items should you about the impact of war on a soldier’s life?
