Objective: Students will be able to describe how life has changed for Amir and Baba in order to analyze the impact their transition to America has had on their lives.

Do-Now: Describe Amir and Baba's first experiences in America.  How is America different from Kabul?  Explain.

Today: 1) Go over Questions for Chapters 10-11 of "The Kite Runner"

2) Class will read Chapter 12 of "The Kite Runner" and complete the review questions for the chapter.

3) Begin reading Chapter 13 of "The Kite Runner" and begin the review questions for the chapter.

Exit Slip: Describe how Amir and Baba's life has changed since coming to America.  Why have they struggled to adjust to the culture?  Why does Baba struggle more than Amir?  Explain.

Homework: Finish reading Chapter 13 and complete the review questions for the chapter.

Objective: Students will be able to describe how Baba and Amir's relationship has changed since Hassan and Ali left in order to make predictions about what may happen in the future.

Do-Now: Why do you believe Amir wants to get rid of Hassan?  What do his actions show you about him?  Do you believe Amir regrets framing Hassan when Ali and Hassan decide to leave?  Explain.

Today: 1) Go over questions for Chapters 8 and 9 of "The Kite Runner."

2) Class will read Chapter 10 of "The Kite Runner" and complete the review questions.
