Objective: Students will be able to characterize Amir and Hassan’s friendship in order to make inferences about each of the characters.

Do-Now: Recall a friendship you had when you were young.  Who was this friendship with?  Which one of you was the leader and which one of you was the follower?  Are you still friends with this person?  Why or why not?

Today: 1) Go over questions for Chapters 1-4 of "The Kite Runner"

2) Class will read Chapter 5 of "The Kite Runner" and complete the review questions for the chapter.

3) Read Chapter 6 of "The Kite Runner" and complete the review questions for the chapter.

Exit Slip: Characterize Amir and Hassan’s friendship.  Are they really friends or is Hassan simply Amir’s servant?  What problems have arisen because of their friendship?  What problems may still occur?


Homework: Read Chapter 7 of "The Kite Runner" and complete the review questions for the chapter.
