Objective: Students will be able to evaluate Alfred’s first fight in order to determine if he was successful.

Do-Now: Why do you believe Alfred decides to spar?  What do you believe encourages Mr. Epstein to help Alfred?  Do you predict Alfred now has a chance of becoming a contender?  Why or why not?

Today: 1) Go over questions for Chapters 12-13 of "The Contender."

2) Class will read Chapter 14 of "The Contender" and complete the review questions for the chapter.

3) Begin reading Chapter 15 of "The Contender" and begin the review questions for the chapter.

2) Class will read Chapter 12 of "The Contender" and complete the review questions for the chapter.

3) Begin reading Chapter 13 of "The Contender" and begin completing the review questions for the chapter.
