Objective: Students will be able to analyze a character in a film in order to compare him to a character in a novel.

Do-Now: 

What are your reactions to the end of “The Contender?”  Did the story end the way you expected it to?  Do you feel Alfred was successful in the end?

Today: 1) Go over review questions for Chapters 18-20

2) What is an underdog?  How can Alfred from "The Contender" and Rocky both be viewed as underdogs?

3) Class will begin watching "Rocky"

Exit Slip: Both Alfred and Rocky are viewed as underdogs.  What characteristics do the two have that give them their underdog status?

Homework: Test on "The Contender" on Friday!!!
