Objective: SWBAT correctly answer 80% or more of the review questions for "Night" and "The Boy in Striped Pajamas."
Do-Now: For your essay on tomorrow's test, you will be asked to describe Elie's transition from the top or Maslow's Pyramid to the bottom. Give one example for each level of Maslow's Pyramid to prove Elie was on that level. Examples should be from different parts of the book, starting with the first section and ending with the last.
Today: 1) Review Do-Nows and essay question for tomorrow's test.
2) Go over review questions for tomorrow's test.
3) Extra-Credit Opportunity (Due Monday, November 4): Essay on The Loss of Innocence in "Night" and "The Boy in Striped Pajamas." Both Elie and Bruno are children at the beginning of their stories. Both characters experience things that cause them to lose this childhood innocence. Compare/contrast Elie's loss of innocence in "Night" with Bruno's in "The Boy in Striped Pajamas," giving specific examples from each. Your essay should be at least 20 sentences long and will be worth 20 extra credit points.
Exit Slip: List any questions you still have about "Night" or "The Boy in Striped Pajamas" which you would like clarified before taking the test tomorrow.
