Jonas’ society represents a utopia or dystopia.
Do-Now: Today you will discover what happens to members of the community when they are released. Who in the story so far has been released? What were they released for?
Today: 1) Go over Exit Slips from Friday
2) Review questions for Chapters 17-18.
3) Class will read Chapter 19 together and complete the questions for the chapter.
4) Begin reading Chapter 20 and begin the questions for the chapter.
Exit Slip: Now that you have discovered what release is, do you believe release is utopic or dystopic? Explain. (Consider who has been released and why they were released.) Are there any situations in which release could be viewed as both utopic and dystopic?
Homework: Finish reading Chapter 20 and complete the review questions for the chapter.
