Objective: Students will be able to evaluate evidence in "The Giver" in order to determine if Jonas' society represents a utopia or dystopia.
Do-Now: If you were a member of Jonas' community, what job do you believe the Elders would assign to you? What skills and interests do you have that would make this a good job for you? Explain. (You may choose an existing job from the book or create a job you believe the community might have.)
Today: 1) Go over questions from Chapters 7-9.
2) Class will read Chapter 10 together and complete the review questions for the chapters.
Homework: Read Chapter 11 and complete the review questions for the chapter.
