Objective: SWBAT examine the themes of racial and social bias in a novel and apply those themes to their own lives.
 
Do-Now: Complete the Warm Up for Chapters #4-6 from your reading packet.

Today: 1) Class will read Chapter #4.

2) In pairs or groups of three, read Chapters #5-6.

3) Complete review questions for Chapters #4-6.

Exit Slip: What do you believe was the reason for Ms. Saunder's activity "What does your face say to the world?"  What was she trying to show her students by having them complete this activity?  Explain.
