Objective: Students will be able to find evidence in "Night" in order to determine which level of Maslow's Pyramid Elie is on and support their conclusions with evidence from the text.

Do-Now: 

The rabbi’s son was willing to abandon his father in order to survive.  Do you believe Elie will ever reach this point?  Would you abandon your family if your survival depended on it?

Today: 1) Go over review questions from Section 7 of "Night."

2) Class will read Section 8 of "Night" and complete the review questions for the section.

3) Individually, begin reading section 9 of "Night" and begin the review questions.

Exit Slip: What level of Maslow's Pyramid does Elie appear to be on by the end of Section 8?  What evidence do you have to prove he is on this level?

Homework: Finish reading Section 9 of "Night" and complete the review questions for the section.  Test on "Night" and "The Boy in Striped Pajamas" MONDAY!!!  "Night" Project Due MONDAY!!!
