Objective: Students will be able to evaluate evidence in order to determine which level of Maslow’s Pyramid Elie is on during each section of “Night.”

Do-Now: Which level of Maslow's Pyramid does Elie appear to be on during Section 1 of "Night?"  What evidence do you have to support that he is on this level?  Explain.

Today: 1) Go over "Night" Section 1 questions.

2) Read section on "Esteem" for Maslow's Pyramid.

3) Class will read "Night" Section 2 and complete the review questions for the section.

4) Begin reading "Night" Section 3 and completing the review questions for the section.

Exit Slip: What level of Maslow's pyramid does Elie appear to be on at the end of Section 2?  What evidence do you have that he is on this level?  Explain.

Homework: Finish reading Section 3 and complete the review questions for the section.
